It felt brand new the rooms were spotless as in all fairness was the whole hotel and having the on site parking was a bonus although a bit trumpy at €30 a night.

We always stay here when we are catching the day ferry to the UK. It is a convenient drive to the port, and saves a very early departure from home in central Brittany. You can also do last-minute shopping and fill up the car in the adjacent Madeleine retail park.
It's a good better-than-basic hotel. I have mobility issues, and they have well appointed rooms for PMRs, and a lift to the upper floors and to the Buffalo Grill.

Location is amazing and having parking inside intra-muros under the hotel is so convenient! We will definitely stay here again.
Also a lot of reviews are complaining about the parking being tight but it is going to be tight in such a location, and with my quite large car I found it much easier then I had expected.
Staff couldn't do enough to help us, very nice
We didn't have time for breakfast but next time!

Walled Gateway to France
One of the major seaports connecting France and England, Saint Malo is Brittany’s most visited town and a tourist destination in its own right.
The Old Town overlooks the English Channel and is completely surrounded by restored walls. You get a great view of them if you arrive on the ferries from England to St Malo (either direct or by the Channel Islands). Once an island, this citadel now shelters behind it the hundreds of sailing boats bobbing in the modern harbor.
Within the Old Town are bars and restaurants serving oysters from nearby Cancale, and many of the St Malo hotels. The most notable sights are the cathedral with its colorful, stained-glass window, and the castle - site of the town's museum.
The beaches are sandy, though the water is somewhat bracing. A causeway leads to Grand Bé, a rocky island housing the tomb of Chateaubriand, its most famous son. To the south is the 14th-century Solidor Tower, a remarkable collection of artifacts from voyages around Cape Horn. Further inland is Labyrinthe du Corsaire, a huge maze that will keep kids busy for hours.
In the Rance River, connecting the sea to Dinan, is the world’s first tidal power station. The road over it leads to Dinard Airport, the closest to Saint-Malo.
Saint Malo is a very interesting and beautiful town.
Saint Malo is a very interesting and beautiful town. It has something for everyone, whether couples or families. Shopping, walking playing at the beach or just a stroll along the ramparts.we were there a week and still could have stayed longer. Public transport is at your door to explore surrounding areas.

Outstanding medieval walled city rich in centuries of history. Inside the walled city is a beautiful labyrinth of cobbled lanes and alleys, filled with cafes, shops, restaurants and hotels. A truely unique experience that visitors should invest time to discover all there is to see. The changing tides and the effect on the local coast is remarkable to see. Best to visit at low tide.

Lovely place to visit for a long weekend ; great beaches and restaurants. We ate at Le Cale in Solidor ; great seafood but quite pricey and in a great location overlooking the bay. The Creperie also great for snacks, tapas and drinks. Great atmosphere and great views and great value for money.
Intra muros really interesting and great to walk around walls. Enjoyed walking around the peninsula between Solidor and St Malo . A great walk parc Solidor with fab views and a great private beach at low tide.
We were just out of season so weren't able to to use the sea bus across to Dinard as planned.
Hotel Alba was in a great location and just a short walk to the city center along the beautiful coastline. The room was beautiful, cozy and the beds were very comfortable. We slept so well with the windows cracked open to hear the ocean. Out the windows of the bedroom was an uninhibited view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and steps nearby that lead straight down to the beach. It was just stunning and we had an absolutely wonderful time exploring Saint-Malo.
This was a good budget hotel offering, well placed for the cross-Channel ferry terminal, railway station and within reasonable walking distance to St Malo walled town. The place seemed well run and rooms were finished in the corporate Ibis Budget style. The breakfast service was efficient and good value for money. We parked for free on a small tree lined square nearby but there were also parking spaces immediately outside for loading and unloading.
The hotel is located within the walled city center. It is a modern building with all facilities necessary. Our suite had a large balcony.
San Malo is a wonderful city, full of restaurants and bars but still very quiet. Don't forget to have lunch or dinner at L'Ancrage for one of the best seafood meals we have ever had.
Easy access to Mont Saint Michel, a must when you are in this area. The abby on top is spectacular.
Last-minute booking, two adjoining spacious, cmfortable rooms. Location intra-mura St. Malo, easy public parking just outside the walls, only a short walk to the hotel. Excellent breakfast (gluten-free bread n request no problem) with great variety. Loved the view onto the cobbled street from our two windows, friendly lady at reception/breakfast, can recommend staying here when wanting to explore St. Malo.
No words are necessary to describe St. Malo. The hotel itself is right next to one of the walls' entrances. The rooms are comfortable; they're equipped with a desk on which to work while there. The hotel lobby is also comfortable, and the (paid) breakfast is nice enough. There's an elevator so one needn't carry one's luggage up flights of stairs. Everything in the old town is within a short walk away.
A gorgeous boutique hotel right on the beach. I loved the feel and vibe of the entire place. the rooms were beautifully appointed, spacious, dark and quiet at night. The staff were welcoming and friendly and breakfast was substantial. The food in the restaurant was exceptional made even better by the glorious view. A really great hotel. I wish we would’ve stayed longer!
Incredibly close proximity to the walled city to enjoy the many restaurants, shops and beaches. The modern decor was very easy on the eye, and the bar area, pool & spa were all very closely located. The staff were extremely helpful and they spoke English which did help our dialogue and answered many questions for us. Liddie & Guilliame were so obliging to our many requests.
The hotel is beautiful and ideally located a stone's throw from the a variety of shops and restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful. We hope to return to Saint-Malo in the next 18 months and will certainly be checking in to the Ajoncs d'Or. We will also be recommending it to anyone we know.
The manager was very helpful and stored our bikes for us overnight. He also let us drop our bags off early and put them in our room. The room was spacious and well decorated. The hotel is in a quiet location but also close to the main centre of the old town.
The property was very clean and the beds comfy. There was a lot of street noise but the double glazing is very good. Location is convenient if you want to be in amongst it all in the Old Town - my preference are the hotels outside the city walls though.
The hotel is located in the first row at the beach promenade, from our room there was a magnificent view to the sea, old town os Saint-Malo, and along the promenade to the East. 20 min walk to the old town, perfect for an evening stroll.
This hotel is right inside the walled city which was really nice. It was clean and tidy and everyone was very nice and very helpful. being able to walk out of the front door straight into the narrow streets of Saint Malo is very nice.
Top location in the center of Saint-Malo, close to restaurants and shops. Hotel and rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Good choice for breakfast, although it is a pity that the breakfast room is in the basement of the hotel.
Lovely clean and comfortable appartement- with an amazing sea view. So good to have parking available. We loved being there- it is close to Old Town and good restaurants. Linen and towels were fresh and crisp, like in a luxury hotel.
The hosts make the experience in the hotel wonderful, they will give you a full scope of the best spots in the surroundings, making our stay super smooth while getting the cosy feeling of being welcome.
Very quirky decor. It's amazing what facilities they have managed to fit in a small space. Location is great as it's close to the ferry port and walled city but also near the beaches. Friendly welcome.
